How many times have I seen a class being rotated when a not so confident man is paired with a bitchy woman who then proceeds to tell him what he is doing wrong despite being a crap dancer.
We've seen this time and time again. Our policy now is to announce a few house rules at the start of the class.
'For those who havnt attended one of our classes before we ask you to follow a few house rules....1) Allow yourself to go wrong 2) Allow the person you are dancing with to go wrong 3) Allow me to go wrong.
We expand on these points a bit but people get the message that we dont tollerate people who insist of telling people off in the class.
As far as the better dancers giving tips to the person who is struggling with a move, we tell people that we are ok with this.
With 50 people in one class it is not always possible for the teacher to spot all the things that arent going right. We let the class know that they will learn things from each other on the way round and helping one another is fine as long as it is done and said with love.
This seems to work for us but I appreciate it wont work for everyone....
